FactLook was asked by a client to create a map showing the location of several day care centers in Marin Co., California. We went one better by adding demographics about the number of day care aged kids for those same areas from the US Census Bureau.

We began building this map by creating a layer (blue shades) for the number of children Age 3 and under by census tract in Marin County. We then used FactLook’s geocoding feature to drop pins representing specific day care centers using street address information we found on the web. We styled the geocodes to show the size off the facility — those with smaller capacity are shaded red while facilities with larger capacity are green.
