Let’s say you have a location you want to pin to a map in FactLook using Location: Latitude/Longitude but it’s in degrees, minutes and seconds — such as 38° 26′ 52″ N and 82° 41′ 15″ W — rather than in decimal degrees (38.447778 and 82.6875).
To use FactLook’s Location: Latitude/Longitude feature, you’ll need to convert your lat/long to decimal degrees. There are numerous online tools for making these conversions. Here are a few of our favorites:
- FCC.gov Degrees Minutes Seconds to/from Decimal Degrees: https://www.fcc.gov/media/radio/dms-decimal
- CalculatorCat.com Latitude and Longitude Lookup: http://www.calculatorcat.com/latitude_longitude.phtml
- EngineeringToolbox.com Latitude and Longitude Converter: http://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/latitude-longitude-d_1371.html
